Authorized by the People's Bank of China, a coin exhibition will be held in Beijing October 26-28.
A total of 84 mints and coin dealers from 15 countries and regions will exhibit their coins in a display area of 5,500 square meters, sources with the exhibition's organizer said Thursday.
During the exhibition, a variety of commemorative coins worth collecting will be put on sale, and an international forum on coinage techniques will be held.
Over 500 commemorative coins and medals featuring the Olympic Games will also be put on display.
Statistics show that China has issued more than 1,470 varieties of gold and silver commemorative coins since 1979, with their themes covering politics, economics, science, art and sport.
