Chinese archaeologists recently found a coin-storage site from the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127) in Anguo City in Hebei Province.
The site was discovered 3.1 meter deep underground at a construction project in the city's Xing'an District, said an archaeologist.
An abundance of coins were unearthed from the site, weighing a total of 400 kilograms.
The coins include more than 20 kinds from the Northern Song Dynasty and even a small number from the Tang Dynasty (618-907).
The discovery will provide valuable clues for studies on history and development of ancient coin-making.
