| Wuhan Public Health Bureau released the final report yesterday from an investigation into the death of former "Super Girl" contestant Wang Bei at a plastic surgery hospital Nov. 15, Xinhua reports. According to the report, Wang died of respiratory failure, though authorities still cannot explain why they allowed Wang's body to be cremated Sunday, which prevented an autopsy that may have revealed the root cause of her death. |

Sina has teamed up with MSN China to boost its microblog services, while Renren is expanding aggressively to include third-party-developed tools. Tencent, China's largest portal, currently makes only 7.3 percent of its revenue from advertising -- the rest coming from value-added services, mostly games. |

| US Energy Secretary, Nobel Laureate physicist Steve Chu, has called China's recent green innovations a "Sputnik moment" and urged the US to ramp up investment in clean energy, AFP reports. Chu paid tribute to China's efforts to reduce carbon emissions, including building the world's largest high-speed rail network and developing energy-efficient thermal power plants. He said that funding for energy innovation in the US was tiny compared to investment in other industries. |
