China will step up doping controls in this year's National Games. According to the China Anti-doping Agency, the number of tests for the Games will be increased by 15 percent in a bid to continue curbing the use of banned substances.

And outside the National Games, Chinese sports authorities will carry out over 10,000 tests this year on Chinese athletes. There are two types of doping tests: in and out-of-competition tests.
In in-Competition Testing, an athlete is selected for testing in a specific competition.
