Sixty nine military officers from 60 countries visited a Chinese Air Force barrack in Beijing Yanqing County Wednesday. The visit was organized by the Chinese Ministry of National Defense Foreign Affairs Office.
The barrack houses a ground-to-air missile battalion.
The military officers were shown the HQ-2 Missile guidance system and its launch position, as well as the soldier's dormitory. Afterwards the officers had lunch together with the Chinese soldiers in the cafeteria, during which time they chatted with each other.
After finishing the tour, the foreign officers said they were quite impressed with the visit and their understanding of the Chinese ground-to-air missile troops has improved as a result.
Visits like this one are a regular practice organized by the Ministry of National Defense Foreign Affairs Office annually, with an aim to showcase the openness of the People's Liberation Army and improve its foreign affairs capability.
