The 2010 Shanghai Expo is just about a year away. So how are the preparations coming along? Let's head to the city to find out.

Over a hundred building project are under way. Engineers say all the construction materials are eco-friendly, and are 10 to 20 percent more energy efficient than average buildings. Technology is helping make the whole complex more user friendly.

The China Pavilion features a traditional architectural style. It will showcase China's achievements in urban development starting from ancient times. Organizers say the Pavilion's main source of power will be solar.

The entire complex is expected to complete around February 2010, when it will then undergo an operational test.
