Guangzhou Toyota Motor company has recalled 260,000 of its Toyota Camry series vehicles in China following concerns with its braking system. The company has submitted a recall report to The General Administration of Quality Supervision Inspection and Quarantine, China's quality watchdog.
The drastic move is in response to an investigation involving the Toyota Camry series. The vehicle is suspected of having defective breaks. The recalled vehicles were produced between May 15th, 2006 and March 3rd, 2008. The company is offering its customers a free replacement.
The quality watchdog believes customer safety can only be ensured by recalling the vehicles.
