Nine of the most promising young artists will open the "Meet In Beijing Arts Festival" next Tuesday. Three of these artists, pianist Chen Sa, violinist Chen Xi and tenor Xie Tian have given an update on the event at a news conference.
The artists have previously shared the stage as competitors. But they will soon be performing together at a concert to kick off the annual 2009 "Meet In Beijing Arts Festival". Eight of the nine artists are winners of China's national contest in the category of piano, violin and opera singing.
Violinist Chen Xi is the exception of the nine artists. He hasn't taken part in any national competitions. Chen made his name at the 12th International Tchaikovsky Violin Competition, when he was 17 years old.
