Star Trek fan sites have been excitedly anticipating seeing "Mr. Spock" again played by the original actor in the role, Leonard Nimoy. "Mr. Spock" goes back in time to warn his younger Vulcan self the crew are being hunted by Nero.

The young Spock then joins forces with the young Kirk. Audiences then see their lifelong friendship at the start and the beginning of their adventures on the famed starship.

This is the first movie role for Quinto.

Actor Zachary Quinto said, "Leonard and I have become very close in this process and his experience has been unique to him and mine will be unique to me and I don't know the degree to which it will involve conventions. Hopefully it will involve some different kinds of work and different opportunities as an actor as well."

The multi-million dollar movie was cloaked in secrecy to avoid any leaks on the Internet. Meanwhile, on set actors wore ponchos to cover their costumes. That's to avoid photos being taken and put online, thereby ruining the surprise for excited fans.

The film is set to be released worldwide in May.
