Sao Paulo defeats Vitoria 2-0

In Paulo Cesar Carpegiani's first game as head coach of Sao Paulo, the team battled to a 2-0 win on Wednesday against Vitoria in the 28th round of the Brazilian Championship.

Sao Paulo's first goal came in the 17th minute when Jean rolled the ball off to Dagoberto who when redirected the ball into the back of the Vitoria net.

The team added to its lead in the 30th minute when Fernandinho dribbled through the defense and past goalie Lee, knocking the ball into the open net.

The win takes Sao Paulo to 10th place with 38 points. In the 29th round of play, Sao Paulo will travel to play last place Gremio Prudente on October 9

Vitoria remains in a troubling 14th place with 31 points. In the next round of play, the team will travel to face Goias on October 10.
