Gremio defeats Vitoria 3-0 in Brazilian championship

With ten of their normal starters injured, home team Vitoria dropped Saturday's 27th round of the Brazilian Championship to Gremio 3-0, marking the team's third-straight.

Gremio's first goal came in the 20th minute when Maylson knocked in a loose ball in front of the Vitoria net.

The team added to their lead in the final minutes. In the 1st minute of stoppage time, Diego tapped in a rebounded ball off a Jonas shot. Seconds later, Edilson fired a bullet that sailed past keeper Lee, scoring his team's third goal.

The win propels Gremio to eighth place with 39 points for their fourth consecutive victory. In the 28th round, it will receive Gremio Prudente on October 6 when Vitoria who dropped to 14th place with 31 points, will travel to face Sao Paulo.
