Two sets of commemorative gold and silver coins are to be issued on Sept. 20 featuring the 2002 Beijing International Stamps and Coins Expo and the 2003 Year of the Goat, the People's Bank of China announced Thursday.
The set marking the expo is a single round one-ounce silver coin with a face value of 10 yuan. Some 40,000 will be issued.
The set marking the Year of the Goat includes six gold coins and six silver coins in round, plum blossom or rectangular shapes. Their weight ranges from one-tenth of an ounce to one kg. Only 15 one-kg gold coins will be issued, while 3,800 one-kg silver coins will be issued.
