On behalf of Chinese President Hu Jintao, State Councilor Dai Bingguo called for concerted efforts among the five leading developing countries to tackle various global challenges.

Dai also called on developed countries to follow-through on their promises of increasing assistance to developing countries. For example, by reducing debt burdens, transferring technology and opening markets. He also urged the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and regional development banks to initiate new assistance measures for developing countries.
