Some Hong Kong college students got a taste of mainland-style military life over the weekend.
Student delegates from eight Hong Kong universities and colleges visited local bases operated by the Chinese People's Liberation Army Sunday. Students from University of Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Polytechnic University also toured military museums to learn more about the PLA's mission in Hong Kong.
Soundbite: Major General Zhang Zhiguo, deputy commissar of Hong Kong PLA's troops "The garrison in Hong Kong and Hong Kong college students gained more understanding and enhanced mutual friendship through this activity. We welcome Hong Kong college students to visit the garrison to learn more about our life and work. In the meantime it can enlarge their knowledge and understanding of their motherland and national defense."
In addtion ,Students also had an opportunity to drill with active-duty soldiers.

An evening party hosted by PLA soldiers marked the end of the visit.
