A Chinese charter flight has arrived in Mexico City to bring back Chinese nationals stranded there.
For many Chinese tourists in Mexico City, the long, anxious wait is over.
Chinese tourist, Bao Mao, said, "We were a bit worried because of the influenza and the situation. The government sent us a plane and now we are able to go home. It's very good."
Chinese tourist, Wang Mengji, said, "On the one hand it's because of the influenza but really we miss our country."
The plane will pick up another 20 Chinese from a northern city on the US-Mexico border, after setting off from the Mexico City.
The 17-member Chinese Southern Airline crew, which includes a quarantine expert, have been trained on precautions against the virus and will monitor the conditions of the passengers every step of the way.
China suspended direct flights from Mexico to Shanghai after a 25-year-old Mexican man, who arrived in Shanghai Thursday, was later diagnosed with A/H1N1 flu in Hong Kong. A Mexican chartered plane has arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport to pick up quarantined Mexicans, but six Mexican nationals have volunteered to stay in the city.
