The train station was one of several sites in the Indian financial capital where gunmen mowed down police and passers by.
In the station's restaurant people ducked for cover as bullets sprayed through the air.
Those working in the kitchens also hid from the firing.
53 people were killed at the station.
Meanwhile, Mumbai police said they were interrogating many possible suspects.
The city's Police Commissioner on Tuesday confirmed how the assailants arrived from Pakistan.
Hasan Gafoor, Mumbai's Police Commissioner, said, "They came from Karachi by ship. Then they hijacked a trawler, and with that trawler they came very close to Mumbai shores. And they then went to five different places, by taxi. "
Hasan Gafoor also told reporters that the gunmen studied commando tactics for a year or more.
He added that each militant was carrying one AK-47 assault rifle with three-hundred rounds, one pistol and several grenades.
The Mumbai Police Commissioner also said that the only gunman out of the ten attackers who was not killed by commandos told investigators he is a Pakistani citizen from Punjab. But the Police Commissioner did not elaborate on the nationalities of the other nine attackers.
And he also ruled out any direct local support for the attack and said no hotel employee was involved.
