| A 21-year-old mother from Ohio, Jessica Gamble, has been accused of teaching her 2-year-old daughter to smoke marijuana after prosecutors said she e-mailed friends a video of the child puffing on a joint. She could face up to 11 years in prison if convicted on all charges, CNN reported. On the video, the child appears to take a puff from a thickly rolled marijuana cigarette as a woman identified as Gamble laughs and tells her, "Don't blow on it." When the girl brings the joint to her, the woman asks, "What is that? What is that?" Taking the pot from the child, she chuckles and says, "Bad." |

| In a magazine interview, the Italian culture minister Sandro Bondi slammed American film director Quentin Tarantino, who led the jury of this year's Venice Film Festival and said that Tarantino "pays no attention to the sentiment and the tastes of the people and of traditions," the Guardian reported. Bondi also slammed the judges' choice of winners, which did not include any Italian films, and said he would take part in the selection of next year's jury, "since [the festival] is financed by the state".
