A hundred more foreign companies have so far invested in the agricultural sector in suburban Songjiang District in southwest Shanghai.
The district has become a main area in the city absorbing a big group of foreigners to invest for agriculture since last year.
A New Zeland company signed contracts with district government yesterday to invest in planting vegetables and flowers.
Some 266 companies from home and abroad have invested in the area with investment of more than 1.5 billion yuan. More than 4,000 hectares of land have been farmed.
