A center has been set up for public relations officers from overseas-funded enterprises in Pudong, the window for Shanghai's opening to the outside world, creating a forum where these PR managers can meet and talk with government officials, the media and the guild.
The local government helped establish the center in the hope that it would improve its relationship with the 8,000-strong foreign-funded businesses in the area.
Industrial sources say this is one of the local government's efforts to improve the environment for more foreign investment.
Over the past 12 years, Pudong has attracted nearly US$40 billion in overseas investment from 78 countries and regions.
