Beijing Mayor Liu Qi said yesterday the Chinese capital welcomes investment from Iran.
At a meeting a Tehran government delegation led by Mayor Morteza-Alviri, Liu said Beijing and Tehran enjoy friendly relations and both are engaged in urban construction. He expressed the belief that the Iranian delegation's visit will further mutual understanding and friendship.
Liu briefed the visitors on Beijing's work on road construction, environmental protection and economic development.
Morteza-Alviri said that Tehran and Beijing share many similarities and he is expecting more cooperation with Beijing in areas of urban construction and environmental protection.
