Intel to Invest Another US$300 Million in China
The world's largest chip-maker Intel is to invest another US$300 million in China, to expand its chip packaging and testing plant in Pudong, Shanghai, the company announced in Shanghai on Thursday.

The packaging and testing facility is Intel's first production base in China which became operational in 1998. The plant is located in the Pudong Development Zone in east Shanghai.

The new input adds the company's total investment in the Shanghai factory to US$500 million.

After the expansion project is completed, the workshop area of the plant will be more than four times larger, from the current 12, 000 square meters to 56,000 square meters.
