The second Sino-Thailand seminar on the trade of agricultural products will open on September 20 in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.
The three-day conference will cover the rules of inspection and quarantine examination for import and export farm goods and related policies to promote agricultural cooperation. Trade between the two countries will also be on the agenda, said the Ministry source.
Officials and businessmen from the two countries will also exchange views on jointly developing the Mekong River Valley, the source added.
The 100-people-strong Thailand delegation will be headed by Chavalit Yongchaiyudh, Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Chucheep Harnsawat.
Over 200 Chinese attendees will come from the administrations of agriculture and quarantine of animals and plants as well as related enterprises, including experts and researchers in this field.
The conference is sponsored by the Sub-council of Agriculture of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the Provincial Government of Yunnan Province and the China Association for International Friendly Contacts.
The Sino-Thailand seminar on farm-goods trade was first held in Bangkok, Thailand in December 1999.
