Air China and Lufthansa in Talks on Star Alliance
|
Air China, one of China's three flagship carrier, is in talks with Deutsche Lufthansa AG about joining the Star Alliance following a code-sharing agreement between the two in October, Reuters reported, citing an unidentified German government official.
Kurt Bodewig, Germany's transport minister, is expected to discuss the issue on Tuesday with Chinese government officials and Ulrich Schulte-Strathaus, Lufthansa's head of corporate policy, Reuters said.
Air China could join the Star Alliance in 2004, Reuters said, citing the German government official.
Lufthansa, together with UAL Corp., leads the Star Alliance, a group of 15 global carriers that collaborate on marketing and selling tickets for each other's flights.
