Pit Wine
Pit Wine is a kind of wine made from highland barley, wheat and barley, plus distiller's yeast and water, with traditional brewery technique peculiar to the locality. The fermentation in a pit usually takes years. The amber-colored wine tastes delicious.
Tonic Duoli
Tonic Duoli is a kind of dried fruit made of the Chinese flowering crabapple produced in Lijiang area. The Chinese flowering crabapple is called Duoli in Lijiang. The tonic Duoli tastes sour and sweet. It is one of the main medicines against the diseases of the urinary system in the traditional Naxi folk prescription. This green food is available all year round in shops and at stalls along the Sifang Street of the ancient city of Lijiang.
Lijiang Cake
The major ingredients include refined white flour, ham and lard. In golden color, such cakes taste crisp and delicious. Two flavors - salty and sweet - are available.
Jidou Bean Jelly Lijiang jelly is made from jidou, a kind of bean which is produced only in Lijiang. The food can be served both cold and hot. The crystal-clear bean jelly, when mixed with red pepper, green onion, Chinese prickly ash and other dressings,
both looks and tastes good.
Snow Tea It has the name as it grows in the snow-covered mountains. Its leaves, completely in white color, look just like those processed tea leaves. Snow tea smells a delicate fragrance and tastes bitter before sweet. Drinking a cup of snow tea helps relieve fatigue and gives a feeling of refreshment.
Pickled Fish
It is a traditional dish of the Naxi people, including the Mosou people. Such pickled fish made by different families has different flavor. But one thing is common, that the fish to be salted, some 250 grams each, are live Schizothorx produced in the Lugu Lake. Pickled fish can be serve raw or cooked, both tasting good.
