The first phase of a project for constructing the "Chinese business management case study database," has been completed at Peking University. In other words, China has for the first time been successful in setting up a database containing case studies used for teaching.
At a seminar involving the project, Professor Cao Fengqi from the university gave a general report Saturday on what was achieved by the project in the past four years and on the use of the Chinese business management case study database.
He said the database, located at Peking University, is a teaching case study database shared by all business schools in the country. He would like Chinese business schools to work together to construct the database and to share in the results.
"Chinese business management case study database construction" was a major Ministry of Education scientific project during the 1996-2000 period.
The database has collected 387 management case studies from Chinese businesses, 20 of which are in English, which will mean the database has information in Chinese and English.
