A total of 28 Hong Kong people have taken part in this year's Chinese Proficiency Test, according to the City University of Hong Kong Tuesday.
A spokeswoman of the university, which administers the test in Hong Kong on behalf of the Office of the Committee of the Chinese Proficiency Test said the number of applicants was the same in 2000.
Twenty-five applicants have sat for the intermediate level test and three for the advanced level test this year, compared with 19 and 9 respectively last year.
In China, 350,000 people from over 100 foreign countries have done the test so far.
