An agreement has been signed for the establishment of a center in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province, to train qualified workers to work in businesses with investment from the European Union.
The program, scheduled to open next month, is part of the China-EU Industry vocational training project, a cooperation scheme signed by the Chinese government and EU to enhance the capabilities of human resources.
Under the program, the EU will provide 15.1 million euros to train 2,000 workers and 100 teachers for businesses with investment from the EU and related organizations.
The Shenyang center will be the program's third facility of this kind in China. The first center was launched in central China's Hubei Province last year.
Liaoning province is home to 300 enterprises with investment from the EU. Representatives from China and the EU believe that the new center will help improve the expertise and competitive edge of the EU-invested businesses and will help promote Liaoning's opening-up and economic globalization.
