An international exhibition of art and science was opened in Beijing Thursday as part of a series of celebration activities to mark the 90th anniversary of the founding of Tsinghua University.
Li Ruihuan, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), attended the inauguration ceremony, along with two vice chairmen of the CPPCC National Committee, Qian Weichang and Zhu Guangya, Secretary- General of the CPPCC National Committee Zheng Wantong, and Minister of Education Chen Zhili.
Thirty-two Chinese and foreign universities sent over 500 pieces of art for the exhibition, including oil paintings and sculptures.
The show is located in the China National Gallery in downtown Beijing.
