Beijing Willing to Cooperate with German Enterprise
Beijing Mayor Liu Qi said Wednesday that the city is ready to cooperate with the German industrial giant, Thyssenkrupp Group, in developing urban transportation.

Liu said this when he met with Ekkehard Schulz, chairman of the executive board of the group.

Thyssenkrupp, an internationally famous industrial group with 700 enterprises worldwide, has made substantial progress in its business development in China. It has cooperated with Shanghai in the city's magnetic suspension train (MST) program.

Beijing has worked out many preferential policies for foreign investment and the city is expecting more cooperation and experience from the German group in its urban transportation, the mayor said.

Schulz said his company would also like to have more technical exchanges and cooperation with Beijing in such fields as the MST. He said he hoped his group will have more investment and better development in Beijing.
