Moi made the remarks at the State House when meeting An Yongyu, outgoing Chinese ambassador to Kenya, who was bidding farewell to the president.

Moi praised Ambassador An for working tirelessly to cement bilateral relations, cooperation and friendship between Kenya and China.

Kenya and China have worked together in many areas for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries, the president said.

Ambassador An thanked the Kenyan government and President Moi for the support he got during his tenure as Chinese envoy to the country.
