Wang Ke, head of the General Logistics Department of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), held talks Monday with Vladimir Isakov, Russain vice minister of defense and director of the logistics department of the Russian armed forces.
Wang, also a member of the Central Military Commission, said that the Chinese and Russian people have enjoyed a long-term friendship, adding that the leaders of the two countries have exchanged views on the bilateral relations and major international issues since the two countries built the strategic and cooperative partnership.
He said that the military relations between China and Russia have developed smoothly and the two sides have had frequent exchange of visits. He noted that the cooperation between the two armed forces in all fields has promoted Sino-Russian relations.
Wang briefed the guests on the reform of China's military logistics system. He said that the visit of Isakov offers an opportunity for cooperation between the two militaries in the field of logistics, and Chinese PLA logistics department would like have more cooperation with its Russian counterpart.
Isakov said that there are many similarities for Chinese and Russian militaries in their logistics systems, and he believes that this visit would further the cooperation between the two armed forces in the logistics field.
