The first silk handbook in the world, entitled "A Handbook on the Hangzhou Silk City", was recently published in Hangzhou, a scenic city of east China's Zhejiang Province.
With vivid pictures and clear characters, the handbook provides a detailed introduction of China's sole wholesale and retail silk market--"Hangzhou Silk City", as well as the connotation of Chinese silk culture.
Known as the first country to have weaved silk articles, and created the well-known "Silk Road", China has consistently valued its silk industry and enjoyed the largest output and sales of silk articles in the world. And Hangzhou is regarded as the "hometown" of silk.
This handbook has been collected by the World Guinness Records and the Chinese Silk Museum, the largest of its kind worldwide.
