Twenty five Burmese policemen began a training course on narcotics control at the public security high school in southwest China's Yunnan Province Sunday.
All the trainees are well-trained policemen, a high-ranking officer from Myanma says, adding this is the first time Myanma has sent this many policemen to undergo training in a foreign country.
Sun Dahong, deputy head of the Yunnan Provincial Bureau of Public Security, said that this was the first time China has trained narcotics control officers for a foreign country.
He says the policemen will receive five-weeks' training which will include information on drug trafficking, narcotics control strategy, the law on the control of narcotics, and international cooperation in narcotics control.
