A piece of music composed and played by computers opened the curtain on the 4th Beijing Zhongguancun Computer Festival on Tuesday night.
According to organizers, the festival will include various computer concerts, seminars and computer-related high-tech shows.
The five-day festival is part of a series of activities designed for the Beijing International High-Tech Week which will officially open on May 10.
"We hope that the festival will help to further promote the industrialization of high-tech research findings," said Liu Zhihua, deputy mayor of Beijing, in a speech at Tuesday's opening ceremony.
Zhongguancun is now the most successful high-tech park in China and has long been regarded as China's "Silicon Valley".
