The 18th Hebei Economic and Trade Fair will be held on May 18-23 in the World Convention and Exhibition Center in Langfang City, Hebei Province, according to the related provincial government officials at a press conference given in Beijing yesterday.
This fair is set to push Hebei’s economic integration with the rest of the world and consolidate the economic and technological exchange and cooperation with domestic and foreign partners. About 1,000 projects to be offered at the fair involve a total investment of US$7.44 billion and cover sectors including information, environmental protection, tourism, and agriculture.
The fair will also feature trade exhibitions, and seminars and forums.
Academicians with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, experts and scholars as well as senior managers of trans-national corporations will attend the seminars and forums at the fair.
According to local government, the fair will gather 1,500 participants at home and from 23 foreign countries. The annual event has seen 4,109 projects for foreign investment concluded since 1996, which involve a total contracted investment of US$11.6 billion. So far, Hebei has established cooperative ties with more than 100 foreign countries, 80 of which have set up businesses in the province. It is now home to 4,000 overseas-funded enterprises including 34 Fortune 500 firms.
Hebei, an important port province in north China, is a place with a rosy business prospect thanks to its favorable location, convenient transportation, abundant resources, and vast market potential.
