Li Peng, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, arrived in Tallinn on Thursday to start a three-day official visit to Estonia, the first by a top Chinese legislator.
In a written airport speech, Li Peng said that during his stay in Tallinn, he will have discussions with Estonian leaders on how to further develop the friendly ties between the two countries.
He is expected to meet Estonian President Lennart Meri, Parliament Speaker Toomas Savi and other Estonian leaders and exchange views on bilateral ties and international issues.
Li wound up his official visit to Belarus and left Minsk, the capital city, Thursday afternoon before arriving in Tallinn.
