Ministers of foreign and economic affairs of more than 40 African countries and leaders of some international and regional organizations have arrived in Beijing for the China-Africa Cooperation Forum scheduled for October 10-12.
The forum, the first ever in the history of Sino-African relations, marks a major effort in promoting multilateral dialog and mutual development between China and African countries.
The presidents of Togo, Algeria, Tanzania and Zambia are expected to attend the opening ceremony Tuesday morning.
More than 300 Chinese and foreign journalists have arrived to cover the forum.
