Int'l Cooperation Urged to Combat Destructive Cults: Scholars

More than 60 experts from eight countries plagued by quasi-religious organizations called on November 10 for closer international cooperation to fight against destructive cults.

During the two-day International Symposium on Destructive Cults, which concluded here on November 10, participants all agreed that the destructive cults are oriented towards internationalization and are rampant in committing transnational crimes. Countries across the globe should also enhance cooperation in information exchange as well as prevention and control of the cults.

Experts held that destructive cults such as Falun Gong, whatever they appear to be on the surface, are all anti-humane, anti-society and hazardous in nature to the human community.

Participants also agreed the destructive cults have caused a number of dangers, urging people all over the world to find effective measures to control the spread of the cults.

Experts also called on the international community to help the victims of the destructive cults, saying that more care and concern should be given to the victims, so as to protect their legitimate rights.
