Chinese border police seized 23.27 kg of refined heroin at Mukang border checkpoint in southwest China's Yunnan Province recently.
Acting on a report of a local resident, border police and public security officers carried out blanket search of a hill near the checkpoint on August 12 and found two camouflage bags containing 44 pieces of heroin weighing 23.27 kg.
In another case, marine police in Fujian Province, a coastal area in east China, caught six smugglers, seizing 14.2 kg of crystal methamphetamine, or "ice" on the Monday of last week.
The marine police also captured 1,150 "head-rocking pills", or ecstasy, on July 18.
