China Red Cross Extends Disaster-Relief Donation to Cambodia

The China Red Cross Society delivered a disaster-relief donation totaling 200,000 yuan to the visiting delegation of the Cambodia Red Cross Society, to aid flood victims in Cambodia.

The Cambodia Red Cross Society delegation, headed by president Bun Rany Hun Sen, came for a visit from May 9 to 12 at the invitation of the China Red Cross Society.

At the meeting with Hun Sen, the president of China Red Cross Society, Peng Peiyun, said that the two organizations have established a long-term friendship and helped each other in disaster-relief for many years.

Peng, also vice chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, hoped that the cooperation between the two sides will be further strengthened in the future.

Peng and Hun Sen also briefed each other on the situation and prospects of the humanitarian cause of the two organizations.

China Red Cross Society provided 30,000 U.S. dollars in relief aid to Cambodia soon after disastrous flooding hit that country last September.
