China Monday launched a tourism forecast system for Labor Day to ensure safe and comfortable holiday for tourists.
The system will issue forecasts and updated situations in 25 major tourism cities and 10 popular scenic spots.
"The Labor Day holiday is the busiest of the three seven-day vacations of the year. Safety will be our biggest concern when tourists flock to destinations. The aim of the forecast system is to inform people of the latest situations and make their tours convenient," said Sun Gang, deputy director of the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA).
CNTA demands that local governments check safety problems in vehicles as well as tourists' destinations.
There were some safety problems during the last Labor Day holiday. Sun said the problems must be solved so as to avoid accidents.
