An official with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies expressed on Wednesday his satisfaction with the efforts of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, southwest China, in publicizing role of the Red Cross.
Richard Grove-Hills, who is visiting Guangxi, made the remark when giving a special lecture on the Red Cross to more than 50 local Red Cross workers.
“It is out of my expectation that people in the region know very much about the Red Cross,” said Richard.
According to a cooperation plan between the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross, the RCSC began to spread knowledge about the Red Cross in China starting in 1999.
Guangxi has run classes for more than 4,900 people on the subject about the Red Cross since 1999. After receiving more information about the Red Cross and what it does people in Guangxi became more comfortable with donating blood.
Su Zhaoping, from Nanning, has donated 8,400 milliliters of blood.
