Beijing 2008 Appears

The “Olympic Writer” Wang Jinjun’s new work Beijing 2008, which reflects Beijing’s bid to stage the Olympic Games that year, appeared recently, following on from his last Olympic book, Sydney 2000. Published by the Writers Publishing House, the 280,000-word book contains many beautiful photographs and displays a panorama of Beijing, especially the areas related to the games.

As a volunteer of Beijing’s 2000 Olympic bid, Wang has never given up his support for Olympic Games. He began his interviews and gathering materials in 1993. When Beijing was chosen as a candidate city for the 2008 Olympic Games, Wang tried his best to do a series of thorough interviews and careful compositions.

The book analyzes the situation of 2008 bid, especially the advantages and disadvantages of each of the five candidate cities and predicts the eventual outcome from an objective view.

From this book, Beijing citizens will find the Olympic is no longer a dream.
