Party members' role in relief work praised
The Vice-Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the CPC Central Committee has praised the role played by party members in the quake relief work. Ouyang Song made the comments during a daily press conference in Beijing on quake relief.
China earthquake death toll rises to 65,080
The death toll from the Wenchuan earthquake has reached 65,080. At noon today (Monday), the official tally of injured stood at 360,058, with another 23,150 people listed as missing. Nearly 14 million people have been evacuated or relocated.
Relief tents from Chinese community in Thailand arrive in Sichuan
The Chinese community in Thailand have donated 2,000 tents to quake-stricken areas in Sichuan. The goods will be transported to Chongqing municipality. Various departments are coordinating efforts to ensure the tents will be given to the survivors as soon as possible.
