Ouyang Song said after the May 12th quake, the Politbureau Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee has held 3 meetings to discuss and plan the relief work. Senior party leaders including Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao have also visited the worst-hit areas in Sichuan several times to direct relief work and comfort the victims.

And the State Council had set up a command center for quake relief work immediately after the disaster. The local party organizations and party members also contributed significantly to the relief work.

Ouyang Song said their efforts have united the people to overcome the difficulties brought by the disaster and inspired them to save more lives and rebuild their homes.
