Mexico prevented entry of Gaddafi's son

The Mexican government prevented the illegal entry of one of late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's sons and three members of his family, presidential spokesman Alejandra Sota said Wednesday.
Mexican authorities thwarted a plan of an international criminal network to smuggle Saadi Gaddafi and family members into Mexico by using forged documents, according to Sota and Mexico's Interior Minister Alejandro Poire.
The Mexican intelligence agency detected on Sept. 6 an illegal entry plan of Saadi and his family. The criminal ring, which involved two Mexican citizens, a Canadian and a Danish national, was detected and dismantled on Nov. 30.
Poire said Saadi and his family attempted to use several alias and to buy real estates in Mexico, which were planned to be used as safe houses.
The interior minister said the resource-rich criminal organization could afford private flights.
Mexico's General Attorneys Office (PGR) said the four alleged members of the criminal network would face charges of document falsification, people smuggling and organized crime.
