At least 108 people have died and more than 1.1 million people have been affected this year by the pouring rains in 28 of 32 departments of Colombia, Colombian Red Cross rescue director Carlos Ivan Marquez said on Sunday.

"The most affected department are Bolivar, Magdalena, Sucre, Cordoba, Choco and Antioquia," Marquez told a local radio station, adding that on Saturday they delivered 160 tons of aid to the victims.

Marquez said that the level of Magdalena and Cauca rivers are high, so they could overflow and caused landslide in many regions.

The rain season in Colombia began in the second half of the year, and Colombia's geography, which has three mountain ranges, make the soil unstable, it is common to have landslides in rain season.
