Authorities there said on Sunday, that the flow of water from a broken water main has forced many residents from their homes in Los Angeles.
The massive break occurred late Saturday night. It poured thousands of gallons of water onto a stretch of busy streets. The water flow from the broken Studio City pipe was stopped after about four hours.
More than 125 firefighters were trying to redirect spillage toward a Los Angeles storm drain. A shelter has been set up at an elementary school for displaced residents.
Water was several feet deep in some places and damaged several homes and businesses. No injuries have been reported.
