Two of the Discovery astronauts have conducted a spacewalk to make improvements to the International Space Station.

During their six-and-a- half-hour spacewalk on Saturday, they installed a GPS antenna and removed a remote power control module.

They also replaced a failed rate-gyro assembly, which is used to measure rates for any changes in the station's altitude.

The space shuttle Discovery is on the seventh day of a scheduled 13-day mission.
