The Sony Center, an urban ensemble of seven buildings in the center of Berlin, Germany, is a combined living, working and entertainment hub. Last weekend, visitors' eyes were particularly riveted by a modern art exhibition there.

From August 7th to 9th, the exhibition displayed the creations of 50 international artists living in Berlin. The artists hail from different countries, including Germany, the US, Russia and Spain.

All the exhibiting artists were on location to sell their works. Visitors had the opportunity to become acquainted with the artists and to gain an insight into their work.

Those who were particularly interested had the unique chance to buy affordable art. None of the original artworks cost more than 100 Euros.

A broad range of art works were on offer, guaranteeing a wide choice of different styles like sculpture, photography or painting.

An important goal of the exhibition is to create a relaxed atmosphere in which art becomes available to everybody.

Artist Christina Gaude said, "The Sony Center is a major tourist destination in Berlin. Exhibitions like this one are a surprising discovery for tourists. Many of them are passionate about modern art. We also got to talk to visitors and get to know their reaction to our works. That's great."

Standing as one of the landmarks of the "New" Berlin, the Sony Center is a grand engineering achievement of steel, glass and fabric. The center attracts more than eight million visitors every year from around the world, fascinating them with its airiness and transparency.
